ABOUT MRRAR
MRRAR is a grassroots movement of volunteers who work to support refugees and people seeking asylum.

We have an executive team and subgroups that focus on increasing community awareness about refugees, fundraising and providing practical support and material assistance.

Funds raised by MRRAR go directly to organisations such as the Brigidine Asylum Seeker Project.

MRRAR is an affiliate of the national network Rural Australians for Refugees.
WHAT WE DO
-
We strive to build a community that treats people who are seeking asylum as we would want to be treated.
-
We reach out to those seeking asylum, building relationships through personal contact.
-
We partner with others to provide material support and friendship.
-
We collect food and raise funds to help people feed their families, educate their children and access medical care.
-
We donate to organisations providing legal services and housing assitance to people seeking asylum.
-
We source furniture and household items as required to enable people seeking asylum to live in dignity while awaiting government decisions about their future.
-
We host events to raise community awareness of refugees.
-
We advocate to our policy makers for humane treatment in line with international agreements on refugees.
OUR PARTNERS
Macedon Ranges Rural Australians for Refugees works closely with a range of partners to support refugees and asylum seekers in rural areas of Australia. Our partners include local community groups, non-governmental organizations, and government agencies. By working together, we can make a greater impact and ensure that the rights and needs of refugees and asylum seekers are met. We are always looking for new partners to join us in our efforts to support refugees and asylum seekers in Australia.
